Munnings Construction is working collaboratively with our customer, Brineflow Property and Handling Limited, on this landmark new facility in the newly created South Denes Energy Park in Great Yarmouth.
Providing extensive liquid fertiliser storage and processing facilities the tank farm transports the product from the river Yare quayside through two 250mm diameter pipelines that have been installed beneath South Denes Road by specialist directional drilling.
The fast track scheme has embraced off-site construction with the perimeter precast concrete wall manufactured in the town.
Project Duration30 weeks
Poor ground conditions required specialist rapid impact compaction to improve the bearing capacity sufficiently for the extreme loadings exerted from the full main storage tanks.
Directional drilling below South Denes Road and Suffling Road. To avoid the main sewer this meant drilling to a depth of over 7 metres.
