The project involved the complete internal fit out of a shell and core commercial unit, allowing our client to trade from a modern and efficient new store. The scope of works included: internal drylined partitions providing both 30 and 60 minutes of fire protection, a full mechanical and electrical installation encompassing both heating and cooling and complete decoration of the shop floor in line with specified corporate branding.
Staff facilities and rest areas were also designed and constructed, and the warehouse was equipped with sufficient storage and racking to allow streamlined stock control. An external waste compactor was relocated and supplied with power.
The project was delivered within a strict timescale, which was put in place to minimise the loss of trading from a historically, very successful store. Munnings Construction were able to offer a total solution to a busy client, and went on to undertake the necessary soft strip and demolition work within the old premises adjacent to the new store. This proved most cost effective to the client, who could remain trading as long as possible before moving into the new retail space.
Project Duration16 weeks
A demanding client, whose corporate image and branding is vital to the continuing success of the business. Customer relationships are also key, and by delivering both projects within the defined timescales, the trust of valued customers was preserved.
The time scale between being awarded the contract, starting on site and opening the store for customers was always perceived as demanding. This was made especially difficult during the winter weather of early 2018.
