Hellesdon High School, Modular Classrooms building

Hellesdon, Norwich, Norfolk

The project brief was to complete all enabling, substructure, services and external works for a new 8 bay modular classroom whilst managing the site as Principle Contractor under the CDM 2015 Regulations.

The Wensum Trust required additional teaching space to cater for an increasing local population. Portakabin were contracted to provide a new 8 bay modular teaching block, with all substructure and drainage works designed and installed by Munnings Construction. Part of the contract was to ensure the future proofing of the installation, and the design incorporated the potential for an additional 1ststorey teaching block to be added to the ground floor units.

Munnings were the main contractor on the project, covering the project management of all subcontractors and building control liaison throughout the project. Once the modular building was installed, associated hard landscaping and car-park works were undertaken to connect the new building to the existing school site.
